Risk Disclosure

Last updated October 13, 2026

Please read this before using LEAPSdesk. Options are complex instruments that involve a high degree of risk and are not suitable for every investor.

Options can lose their entire value

A long call option, including a LEAPS contract, can expire worthless. The maximum loss on a purchased call is the full premium paid plus commissions. Prices shown on the Service (bid, ask, mid, cost) are indicative quotes that can differ from the price at which you can actually trade.

Leverage cuts both ways

Options magnify both gains and losses relative to the underlying stock. Illustrations on the Service that show large percentage returns also imply that a moderate move against you can produce a total loss.

Projections and calculators are estimates

The "back to peak" projection, the profit calculator, the profit grid and the slide figures are mechanical estimates built from assumptions: that the stock reaches a chosen price by a chosen date, that an option-pricing model (Black-Scholes) with a chosen volatility reasonably approximates value before expiry, and that the contract can be sold at that value. None of this is assured. Real outcomes depend on volatility, interest rates, dividends, early-exercise features, liquidity, bid-ask spreads, fees and taxes that the model does not fully capture. Every such figure is labeled "estimate" or "PROJECTION · NOT A PROMISE" and must be read that way.

Track-record figures are hypothetical

Backtested results on the Service use real historical stock closes but modeled option premiums, because historical option quotes are not available to us. They are selected to illustrate the method, include only completed holding periods, and are accompanied by the number of entries scanned, the share that were profitable and the median result. Hypothetical performance has inherent limitations: it is prepared with hindsight, does not reflect actual trading, and does not account for the financial or emotional impact of real losses. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

The five rules are a screen, not a recommendation

The L-E-A-P-S rules are a fixed, published checklist applied identically to every ticker. A score of 5 of 5 means a stock met five mechanical criteria on one day; it does not mean the stock or any option on it is a good investment for you.

Data limitations

Market data may be delayed or incomplete, filings data reflects what companies reported and may be restated, and figures shown as "N/A" were unavailable rather than zero. Live prices use a single-exchange real-time feed and may differ from consolidated prices.

You are responsible

LEAPSdesk is a software tool and not an investment adviser. Before trading options, read the Options Clearing Corporation's Characteristics and Risks of Standardized Options, understand your broker's requirements, and consider seeking advice from a licensed professional who knows your financial situation. Only risk capital you can afford to lose.
